It’s weird; once it hits mid-March, there’s part of my head that’s just “Well, it’s far too late for that kind of weather.” Snow? This late in the year? That’s just wrong, for some reason; snow belongs to December and January, and maybe February if the weather envelope gets a little pushed. Otherwise, I just get suspicious and concerned.

Let’s Begin Again

And so we return and begin again. Last weekend ended with an incredible, overwhelming sickness that slid into the weekend, leaving today feel like both a fresh start and a desperate attempt to catch up. This foreboding beautiful image seems an appropriate one, in that sense.

Part of me wanted to make a “Look at them torturing those poor children!” joke, but the truth of the matter is, this is weirdly nostalgic for me; I remember that my own school had a gym with those bars lining the walls, and that we’d have to climb up and down them all the time, with teachers searching desperately for “exercises” that little six year olds could actually manage to do without complaint.
