This late-era episode of The Monkees is a fascinating artifact – co-written (and directed) by Micky Dolenz, it’s got a sample of “Good Morning Good Morning” by the Beatles at the start and a full musical performance by Tim Buckley at the end, and a plot that’s more reminiscent of the-underrated-I-promise movie Head than anything else in the series.
