Brass Sun – Brand New US Format Release – 25 May 2014
The hit clockpunk fantasy, Brass Sun is coming to North America, and in a first for 2000AD, will be released monthly in a six-issue US-format miniseries.
From creators, writer Ian Edgington (Scarlet Traces), and artist, INJ Culbard (New Deadwardians), Brass Sun has been an instant hit with readers, thanks to it’s vast imaginative landscapes and fascinating strong female character, Wren..
In a vast clockwork solar system, a young girl must leave the safety of her home to search for the key to restarting the dimming sun.
The Orrery is a clockwork solar system where planets whirl on vast metal arms and the sun of cogs is worshipped as a god. But the sun is dying, the planets are freezing one by one, and cults burn as heretics those who warn of the danger.
To save her home, young Wren knows she must first escape it and find the key to restart the sun.
2000 AD’s first US-format series follows the success of the one-shot DREDD movie sequel comic book, DREDD: UNDERBELLY, which sold out before hitting shelves in January and went to a second printing.
The mini-series will culminate in the collected trade paperback, which is being released to comic and book stores simultaneously in the UK and North America through Diamond in December.
Can we talk about how damn beautiful those covers are?
