I’m reminded of the hilarious io9 pullquote for the rebooted Robocop movie that called it “one of the better science fiction movies of the year so far.” That review was published on February 12, just six weeks into the year so far, and at a point where the number of science fiction movies of the year to date consisted of two including Robocop, and that’s only if you’ll allow I, Frankenstein as a science fiction film.

Is 2014 going to be the year of the well-meaning, but utterly meaningless pullquote?
