This is currently my favorite story on Bleeding Cool, for two reasons. The first is that editor Will Dennis is referred to as Bill Benis twice, suggesting that it’s not a typo, but that Hannah really thinks that’s his name. The second is that the entire point of the story, published on July 24th, is that “Benis” announced a new series coming from Vertigo that had actually been announced more than three weeks earlier.

As someone who’s worked Comic-Con numerous times in the past, I totally recognize this as the perfect storm of mistakes that are easy to make at the show. That doesn’t make it any less amusing to me, nor less stunning that its gone uncorrected a day later (Seriously, if it’s something that’s said at a panel, their names are on pieces of paper right in front of them. Plus, you can always/should always look up the panel participants in the program to make sure their names are spelled right and not, you know, “Bill Benis”).
